Unless explicitly stated otherwise, a lower A grade will not be taken into consideration when applying the scholarship evaluation criteria.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3>\u00a0<\/h3><h3><b>Eligible Criteria<\/b><\/h3><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Merit Scholarship (\u201c<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Scholarship<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d) is open to all students below the age of 25 years enrolling in a full-time MCKL programme within two years of completion of their SPM\/IGCSE\/UEC\/A-Level\/AUSMAT.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li>Only Trial\/Forecast Results which are obtained from registered schools under the Ministry of Education, can be used to apply for the scholarship.<\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Successful applicants will be notified by\u00a0the Office of the Registrar.<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The following table is the equivalency of grades across SPM and IGCSE examinations:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><table style=\"width: 100%;\" data-tablestyle=\"MsoTableGrid\" data-tablelook=\"1184\" aria-rowcount=\"2\"><tbody><tr aria-rowindex=\"1\"><td data-celllook=\"65536\"><p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">SPM (Grade A+)<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><td data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cambridge IGCSE Grade A* \/ <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Edexcel IGCSE Grade 8 &amp; 9<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr aria-rowindex=\"2\"><td data-celllook=\"65536\"><p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">SPM (Grade A)<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><td data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cambridge IGCSE Grade A \/ <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Edexcel IGCSE Grade 7<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><ul><li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"18\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For SPM results, CEFR Bahasa Inggeris and Foreign Language will not be considered in the overall SPM results.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"18\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For Cambridge IGCSE results, applicants may combine results from different examination boards and multiple examination sittings provided there are no overlapping subjects and within a 12-month period.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li>Scholarship offer is considered null and void if the student fails to meet the minimum entry requirement as set by the MOHE in their actual results.<\/li><li>Students can only be on one scholarship or financial aid at a time, whichever is higher.<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>General Terms &amp; Conditions<\/strong><\/h3><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Applicants must submit their results to the Office of the Registrar within 7 days of release of the actual results to confirm their eligibility for the Scholarship, &#8211; failing which applicants may have their Scholarship be put under review.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Applicants may apply for more than one MCKL scholarship\/ bursary\/ financial aid\/ discount (collectively, \u201caward\u201d) at any one time but will be permitted to benefit from only one award, which shall generally be the award with the highest quantum.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Recipients of the Scholarship are <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">required to pay the first semester fees in full<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> before the commencement of the semester. Scholarship disbursement will commence from the second semester onwards.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The tuition fees coverage for the Scholarship are as follow:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><table style=\"width: 100%;\" data-tablestyle=\"MsoNormalTable\" data-tablelook=\"0\" aria-rowcount=\"11\"><tbody><tr style=\"height: 35px;\" aria-rowindex=\"1\"><td style=\"height: 35px;\" data-celllook=\"69649\"><p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Cambridge A-Level<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><td style=\"height: 35px;\" data-celllook=\"65553\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maximum of 4 subjects*<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr style=\"height: 40px;\" aria-rowindex=\"3\"><td style=\"height: 40px;\" data-celllook=\"69648\"><p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Australian Matriculation<\/span><\/b><strong> (WACE)<\/strong><\/p><\/td><td style=\"height: 40px;\" data-celllook=\"65552\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maximum of 5 subjects*<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr style=\"height: 78px;\" aria-rowindex=\"7\"><td style=\"height: 78px;\" data-celllook=\"69648\"><p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Diploma Programmes\u00a0(full-time)<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><td style=\"height: 78px;\" data-celllook=\"65552\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maximum of 2.5 years or 90 cumulative credit hours, whichever comes first<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*Not inclusive of additional language subjects\/courses (German, Spainish, etc.)\u00a0<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Students who have not fully settled their semester fees are not entitled to any Scholarship disbursement in the subsequent semester. The Scholarship will be disbursed on a semester-by-semester basis with the final disbursement upon the successful completion of the programme.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the event a recipient is offered and accepts any scholarship, bursary, financial aid or other sponsorship for their MCKL studies from any other entity or person, (s)he shall inform the Office of the Registrar in writing within two (2) weeks of such acceptance. The Institution reserves the right to withdraw or adjust the quantum of the Scholarship to the recipient. Recipients who fail to inform the Office of the Registrar may face disciplinary action and\/or be required to reimburse the full value of the\u00a0 disbursed Scholarship to MCKL.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Scholarship is not applicable to and does not cover:<\/span><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Subjects\/\u00a0Credit hours in which no examinations\/assessments were\u00a0attempted;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Withdrawn\/\u00a0Dropped subjects; and<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Repeat subjects\/\u00a0papers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Scholarship is only valid for the duration of the enrolled programme and does not cover any extension of the programme beyond its minimum duration.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">All Scholarship recipients are also required to pass <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Service Learning<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Character Formation<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> subjects in order to maintain the Scholarship. <\/span><\/li><li>The Scholarship may not be transferred to other programmes or deferred to other intakes except with the prior written consent of MCKL. Such consent may be withheld at MCKL\u2019s absolute discretion.<\/li><li>In the event that the recipient is suspended or expelled by MCKL at any time before completion of the programme, the Scholarship shall terminate and be automatically revoked. MCKL reserves the right to require the recipient to reimburse the full value of the disbursed Scholarship in such events.<\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Any refund of fees is subject to the Terms and Conditions as stated in the Student Handbook.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">MCKL reserves the right to involve Scholarship recipients in various activities of the Institution, including interviews, MCKL events, education events, social media, photography\/videos, and other promotional or marketing activities of MCKL.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Scholarship is given at the sole discretion of MCKL. Applicants are not guaranteed approval of the Scholarship notwithstanding fulfilling the conditions set.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This Scholarship is not transferable or cannot be encashed and does not cover external examination fees (if applicable) or textbooks.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">MCKL reserves the right to amend any criteria and\/or terms and conditions of the Scholarship <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">as and when it deems necessary<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. The recipient must meet the academic and other requirements stipulated by MCKL for continued disbursement of the Award.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"5\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Award is based upon the number of subjects attempted in each semester\u2019s final exams and is restricted to the following total number of subjects\/credit hours only:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><table style=\"width: 100%; height: 291px;\" data-tablestyle=\"MsoTableGrid\" data-tablelook=\"1184\" aria-rowcount=\"5\"><tbody><tr style=\"height: 55px;\" aria-rowindex=\"1\"><td style=\"height: 55px;\" data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cambridge A-Level<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><td style=\"height: 55px;\" data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maximum of 4 subjects* <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr style=\"height: 55px;\" aria-rowindex=\"3\"><td style=\"height: 55px;\" data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Australian Matriculation<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"> (WACE)<\/span><\/p><\/td><td style=\"height: 55px;\" data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maximum of 5 subjects*<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr style=\"height: 48px;\" aria-rowindex=\"5\"><td style=\"height: 48px;\" data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Diploma programmes<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><td style=\"height: 48px;\" data-celllook=\"0\"><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maximum of 2.5 years or 90 cumulative credit hours, whichever comes first<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><p><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">* Not inclusive of\u00a0 additional language subjects\/courses (German\/Spanish, etc.)\u00a0<br \/><\/span><\/p><ul><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"16\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Award does not cover:<\/span><ul><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"16\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Subjects\/Credit hours in which no examinations\/assessments were attempted;<\/span><\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"16\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Withdrawn\/Dropped subjects;\u00a0and<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"16\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Repeat subjects\/papers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><h3><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Maintenance of Award<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3><ul><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Scholarship recipients are required to maintain an academic progress of a minimum of GPA 3.20 for each semester throughout the Programme.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">All Scholarship recipients are required to pass Service Learning and Character Formation subjects in order to maintain the Scholarship.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">All Scholarship recipients are required to attend the Graduation &amp; Awards Ceremony to be refunded the final portion of the scholarship, provided the above conditions are also met.<\/li><\/ul><h3><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">General Provisions<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3><ul><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Applicants may apply for more than one MCKL scholarship \/ bursary \/ financial aid \/discount (collectively, \u201caward\u201d) at any one time but will only be permitted to benefit from one award, which shall generally be the award with the highest quantum<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">In the event a recipient is offered and accepts any scholarship, bursary, financial aid or other sponsorship for their MCKL studies from any other entity or person, (s)he shall inform the Office of the Registrar in writing within two (2) weeks of such acceptance. The Institution reserves the right to withdraw or adjust the quantum of the MCKL Excellence Award Scholarship to the recipient. Recipients who fail to inform the Office of the Registrar may face disciplinary action and\/or be required to reimburse the value of the disbursed Scholarship to MCKL.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">This Scholarship is only valid for the duration of the enrolled Programme and does not cover any extension of the Programme beyond its minimum duration.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Scholarship may not be transferred to other MCKL programmes or deferred to other intakes except with the prior written consent of MCKL. Such consent may be withheld at the Institution\u2019s absolute discretion.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">In the event a recipient withdraws from the enrolled Programme at any time after acceptance of the Scholarship (including prior to the 1st day of Orientation), all payments and deposits in connection with the enrolled Programme will be forfeited absolutely to MCKL and no refunds whatsoever shall be due to the recipient.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">If the recipient is subject to disciplinary action, suspended or expelled from MCKL at any time before the completion of the Programme, the Scholarship shall terminate and be automatically revoked. MCKL reserves the right to require the recipient to reimburse the full value of the disbursed Scholarship in such events.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Institution reserves the right to involve the Scholarship recipients in various activities organised by the Institution, including but not limited to interviews, MCKL events, education fairs, social media, photography\/videos, and other approved activities. Attending the Graduation &amp; Awards Ceremony is mandatory, except for students who are already overseas.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">This Scholarship is given at the sole discretion of the Institution. Only SPM\/ IGCSE\/ ICCE results achieved within 2 years from commencement date will be accepted. If forecast results are submitted, the actual final results must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar within 7 days of release of results. Failure to do so will result in a suspension or revocation of the Scholarship (if awarded) without further notice.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Scholarship is open to eligible applicants enrolled under any MCKL full time programme.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Scholarship application must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar before the end of the second week of the first semester, or within two weeks of the release of actual results, whichever is later. The Institution reserves the right to withdraw or adjust the quantum of the Scholarship to the recipient. Recipients who fail to inform the Office of the Registrar may face disciplinary action and\/or be required to reimburse the full value of the disbursed Scholarship to MCKL.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Scholarship is not applicable to and does not cover:-<ul><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Subject\/ Credit hours in which no examination\/assessments were attempted;<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Withdrawn\/ Dropped subjects; and<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Repeat subjects\/ papers.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Scholarship is only valid for the duration of the enrolled programme and does not cover any extension of the programme beyond its minimum duration.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">Scholarship recipients are required to maintain an academic progress of a minimum GPA of 2.20 for each semester throughout the programme. Recipients of the Member of the Local Methodist Church Scholarship are exempted from this requirement.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">All Scholarship recipients are required to pass Service Learning and Character Formation subjects in order to maintain the Scholarship.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">All Scholarship recipients are required to attend the Graduation &amp; Awards Ceremony in order to be refunded the final portion of the scholarship, provided the above conditions are also met.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">The Scholarship is not transferable to other MCKL programmes or deferred to other intakes except with the prior written consent of MCKL. Such consent may be withheld at the Institution\u2019s absolute discretion.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">In the event a recipient withdraws from the enrolled Programme at any time after acceptance of the Scholarship (including prior to Programme commencement, any refund of fees is subject to the Terms and Conditions as stated in the Student Handbook.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">If the recipient is subject to disciplinary action, suspended or expelled from MCKL at any time before the completion of the Programme, the Scholarship shall terminate and be automatically revoked. MCKL reserves the right to require the recipient to reimburse the full value of the disbursed Scholarship in such events.<\/li><li data-leveltext=\"%1.\" data-font=\"Arial\" data-listid=\"2\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"9\" data-aria-level=\"1\">MCKL reserves the right to involve Scholarship recipients in various activities of the Institution, including interviews, MCKL events, education events, social media, photography\/ videos, and other promotional activities of MCKL. The Institution reserves the right to withdraw or adjust the quantum of the MCKLIS to the recipient.
