{"id":10730,"date":"2025-08-21T11:05:13","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T03:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/?p=10730"},"modified":"2025-09-18T10:11:37","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T02:11:37","slug":"announcement-to-all-international-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/2025\/08\/21\/announcement-to-all-international-students\/","title":{"rendered":"ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Implementation of 6% Sales and Service Tax (SST) on Fees for International Students<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear International Students,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be informed that the Government of Malaysia has recently announced the expansion of SST to include education services provided to international students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, in line with the ruling from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, a <strong>6% SST<\/strong> will be applied to all fees payable by international students. This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuition\/Course fee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application\/Registration fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International student fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student resource fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exam fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any other related charges (e.g. add\/drop, instalment, resit, retake, accommodation admin charges, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that certain fees and charges are exempted from SST under current regulations. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Refundable deposits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accommodation charges (Deposits &amp; Rentals) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student pass or visa charges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These exemptions are subject to change should future government directives revise the current regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Effective Date: 1 September 2025<\/strong><br>Starting from this date, a 6% SST will appear on all invoices and billing schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important: Any payments made on or after 1 September 2025 will be subject to 6% SST, <\/strong>even if the corresponding invoice was issued before that date<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a nationwide implementation affecting all higher education institutions in Malaysia.
