This year\u2019s event was themed&nbsp;<strong>\u201cWhen We Were Young,\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;a concept inspired by childhood memories that resonated strongly with both organisers and visitors alike.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/02\/IMG_6651.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11311\" style=\"width:751px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>According to DECE Union representative&nbsp;<strong>Au E-Jie<\/strong>, the theme was carefully chosen to reflect the essence of early childhood education. As students specialising in this field, the organising committee wanted a concept&nbsp;closely connected&nbsp;to children and the joy of growing up. The nostalgic theme was further reflected in the&nbsp;selection&nbsp;of food booths, which featured snacks and treats inspired by the committee members\u2019 own childhood favourites.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/02\/IMG_6597.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11312\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7500095899344048;width:416px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Beyond entertainment, the Fun Fair also carried a strong charitable element. Throughout the preparation period, the DECE Union collected donated items such as clothes, toys, and educational books. These items were later distributed to&nbsp;<strong>Peace Education Centre<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Praise Emmanuel Children\u2019s Home<\/strong>. While no direct monetary donations were made, funds raised during the event were used to&nbsp;purchase&nbsp;stickers that were gifted to the children at both homes. The donations were delivered on&nbsp;<strong>17 and&nbsp;18 July<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;were warmly received by the organisations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/02\/IMG_6603.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11313\" style=\"width:416px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Reflecting on the experience, Au E-Jie shared that the most cherished aspect of the event was the personal growth gained throughout the process. Organising the Fun Fair provided opportunities to connect with union members from different cohorts while developing essential skills such as communication, negotiation, teamwork, and active listening.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/02\/IMG_6593.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11314\" style=\"width:416px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>From a leadership perspective, seniors&nbsp;<strong>Hooi Min and Jocelyn<\/strong>&nbsp;expressed immense pride in the organising committees. They noted that seeing the event run smoothly and receiving positive feedback from students and staff was deeply rewarding. More importantly, they highlighted the courage and commitment shown by committee members who stepped out of their comfort zones, embraced challenges, and&nbsp;demonstrated&nbsp;visible growth throughout the journey.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/02\/IMG_6601.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11315\" style=\"width:416px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Faculty advisor&nbsp;<strong>Ms Chan Mei Yee<\/strong>&nbsp;also shared her observations, noting significant improvements in students\u2019 creativity and organisational skills over the years. She highlighted the students\u2019 growing ability to design cohesive and engaging themes that are well reflected across promotions, food offerings, merchandise, and games. Ms Chan also&nbsp;observed&nbsp;an increase in originality, entrepreneurial thinking, and meaningful interactivity in the booths presented.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mckl.edu.my\/pykett\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2026\/02\/IMG_6594.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11316\" style=\"width:416px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Overall, the DECE Fun Fair stood as a testament to the students\u2019 initiative, collaboration, and dedication.
