Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) proudly celebrated the achievements of the KL Campus students during the recent graduation ceremony of its Cambridge A Level, Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT), ACCA and the first batch of graduates from Diploma in Digital Business, Diploma in Information Technology, and Diploma in Computer Science.
The graduates’ remarkable performance in their respective programmes is a testament to the institution’s reputation for 40 years of excellence in education. The graduation ceremony not only symbolises a noteworthy achievement in the student’s academic lives, signifying the culmination of years of hard work, commitment, and dedication but also serves as a testament to MCKL’s mission of nurturing individuals who excel academically while being grounded in values that serve as their life compass. It is anticipated that this values-based educational approach will continue to shape future leaders, innovators, and change-makers across various fields.
Among the Cambridge A Level achiever, Salome Toh and Aryan Sunilkumar stood out for earning the prestigious title of Top in the World for AS Level Mathematics, ultimately receiving the Overall Academic Excellence Pure Arts 2023 Award. Notable mentions include Ng K-Yang, Soh Chien Ci, and Ivan Chok, each recognised for their exceptional achievements in GCE A Level examination November 2023.
For the past decade, MCKL has maintained a 100% average passing rate for A Level, with nearly 40% of this year’s graduates achieving 3As and above. MCKL’s consistent success has resulted in students earning titles such as Top in the World, Top in Malaysia, and High Achievements across various subjects, facilitating their admission to esteemed universities globally.
In the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) programme, Caitlyn Cheong Ka Ling stood out, receiving the Datuk Dr Chiam Heng Keng Award 2024 for outstanding achievement. Chin Lee Jae, another high achiever in DECE, passed with distinction. In the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) programme, over 50% of students achieved an impressive ATAR score of 70 and above. Chim Wing Sern received the Datuk F R Bhupalan 2024 for the highest ATAR, and Amber Ong Sze Qi was recognised as the Subject Prize Winner for Mathematics Application.
This graduation ceremony held extra significance as it marked the first batch of students graduating from the Diploma in Digital Business, Diploma in Computer Science, and Diploma in Information Technology, launched in 2021. Their success demonstrates the pioneering spirit and resilience of this graduating class, setting a high standard for future students. The ceremony also commemorated the achievements of graduates in the ACCA programme with student who have completed their ACCA professional papers.
