Senior Mathematical Challenge 2025

MCKL College (Penang, Pykett Campus) is proud to announce our students’ achievements in the Senior Mathematical Challenge 2025. This marks the first time our students have participated in the competition. Three students from the Cambridge A-Level programme took on the challenge, demonstrating their dedication to mathematics and their willingness to push themselves further.

The Senior Mathematical Challenge is a national competition in the UK, organised by the UK Maths Trust (UKMT), and open to students from around the world. Established in 1996, UKMT aims to enhance the level of mathematics education among young people, fostering a love for mathematics and encouraging the application of mathematical skills to solve problems.

This year’s event attracted a large number of participants from across Asia, and the results were impressive. Nearly 35% of Asian students achieved the honour of a Global Gold Award. The results, which were released in November 2025, saw all three students receiving recognition for their performance:

  • 1 Gold Awards
