Dr Gerard Boey Kong Hoong
Principal cum Academic Dean
Dr Gerard Boey is an accomplished educator with over 30 years of combined professional experience spanning Engineering, ICT, and Education. Alongside his current academic leadership role, he brings a wealth of industry expertise, having held various senior positions and successfully developed an ICT start-up earlier in his career. He is currently the Principal of MCKL College (Penang, Pykett Campus).
His passion lies in the integration of ICT and pedagogy in education. Over the years, he has designed and conducted numerous training programmes, workshops, and talks aimed at enhancing teaching and learning. Notably, he has trained school teachers, lecturers, postgraduate students, and adult learners in Mind Science for Effective Multimedia Presentation, drawing on Richard Mayer’s Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning to strengthen multimedia design and delivery skills.
