On 24 January 2026, over 170 students from Methodist College Kuala Lumpur’s Pykett Campus celebrated the culmination of their hard work and perseverance as they walked the graduation stage. A week later, on 7 February, more than 350 graduates from the KL Campus marked their own moment of triumph at Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC), cheered on by proud family members, lecturers, and friends.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including The Reverend Joshua Khong, President of Trinity Annual Conference, and Mr Ngu Chie Kieng, Chairman of the Board of Governors. Addressing the graduating class, MCKL Chief Executive Officer Dr Chua Ping Yong urged, “Continue to work hard, be resilient, and remember that your purpose is to make a positive impact in the world, honouring God with your life. Let this peace be your constant companion as you navigate the unknowns.”

Over 170 students from Cambridge A-Level, AUSMAT, Business, Education, and Computing programmes proudly received their scrolls, marking the largest graduating cohort since Pykett Campus opened its doors.
Cambridge A-Level students achieved remarkable recognition at the recent Outstanding Cambridge Learners’ Awards. Cheng Xiao Thung earned Top in the World for AS Level Psychology, while Seah Ping Loon received Top in Malaysia for AS Level Physics. Seah was also named Outstanding Achiever, receiving the Yin Kam Yoke Award 2026 for Best Performance in the June 2025 GCE A-Level Examination, along with Overall Academic Excellence for Pure Science and Subject Prizes in Chemistry and Physics. Cheng received Overall Academic Excellence for Combination Arts and Science and Subject Prizes in Biology and Psychology. Soo Wen Hui was another Outstanding Achiever and Yin Kam Yoke Award recipient.

Institutionally, the Cambridge A-Level programme saw students achieving 3As and above rise from 29.2% in 2023 to 58% this year, while maintaining a 100% passing rate and consistently strong distinction results, further reinforced by national and international recognitions.
For AUSMAT (WACE), Bryan Toh Lit Ern led the cohort with an ATAR of 95.90, receiving the Datuk F R Bhupalan Award 2026. The programme continues to show strong momentum, with certification rates exceeding 90% and top ATARs reaching 97.60.
Diploma students also excelled. Tan Tzu Yang topped the Business programme with a CGPA of 3.00 and above, while in Computing, Jeanni Khoo Li Jing earned a CGPA of 3.79 and received the Dato’ Dr Tan Kee Kwong Award 2026. The Diploma in Early Childhood Education saw Nurul Iman Binti Mohamed Azmi graduate as top achiever and Valedictorian with a near-perfect 3.92 CGPA. All diploma graduates achieved strong academic results, and several secured job offers upon completing internships, demonstrating both workplace readiness and the industry relevance of MCKL’s programmes.

KL Campus Graduation – 7 February 2026
Over 350 students from Cambridge A-Level, AUSMAT, Business, Computing, Education, and ACCA programmes received their scrolls in the presence of The Reverend Joshua Khong, Mr Ngu Chie Kieng, and Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Dr Tan Kee Kwong, Former Chairman of the Board of Governors.
In the GCE November 2025 results, students achieving 4As and above increased from 26.9% in 2024 to 27.4% in 2025, reflecting steady academic progress. High achievers included Lee May Tzi, Yin Kam Yoke Award recipient and Overall Academic Excellence achiever for Combination Science and Arts, and Chan Jia Yue Zoey, Overall Academic Excellence recipient for Pure Science and Subject Prize winner for Biology and Chemistry.

AUSMAT achievements were led by Damian Khoo Kok Hung, who attained an ATAR of 96.55 and received the Datuk F R Bhupalan Award 2026, while around 50% of students scored an ATAR of 70 and above. The AUSMAT programme continues to demonstrate strong momentum, with approximately 50% of students achieving an ATAR of 70 and above, a testament to their capability, perseverance, and the dedicated guidance of our lecturers.

In the Diploma programmes, Jocelyn Sue Ming Mei earned the Datuk Dr Chiam Heng Keng Award for a CGPA of 3.89 in Early Childhood Education. Lee Shin Ying topped the Computing programme with a near-perfect 3.97 CGPA, receiving the Dato’ Dr Tan Kee Kwong Award 2026. In the Business programme, Lai Manee achieved a CGPA of 3.82 and received the Ms Moey Yoke Lai Award. Brandon Choo, Valedictorian of the day, is now pursuing a Bachelor of Finance (Financial Technology) with Honours at University Tunku Abdul Rahman.

A Celebration of Excellence and New Beginnings
MCKL’s Graduation Ceremony 2026 was more than a celebration of academic success, it reflected the College’s commitment to shaping future leaders, innovators, and change-makers. Though held on different dates, both ceremonies shared the same spirit of joy, gratitude, and excitement for the future. As graduates embark on their next journey, they join MCKL’s enduring legacy defined by resilience, passion, and excellence.
