MCKL Awards 20 Scholarships to Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) Students
20 students from Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) [also more commonly known as WMSKL(International)] received the inaugural ‘WMSKL(I)-MCKL Principal’s Scholarship to pursue their preferred Pre-University programmes commencing January 2022 in Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL).
There were three key criteria for the student applicant to be eligible for the 100% tuition-fees scholarship.
- The student would have to acquire at least 9As star and above from IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education).
- He or she was outstandingly active in extracurricular programmes in school.
- Student’s family’s financial background would also be a key consideration.
“The purpose of the scholarship is to continue Methodist Council of Education (MCOE) and MCKL’s guiding philosophy in delivering excellent and quality education which ultimately serves its purpose as an institution for society. As educators, we strive for a caring and nurturing environment through transformative learning and teaching practices, along with upskilling extra-curricular activities,” she said.
“We hope that this scholarship to WMSKL(International) students will continue to deliver and build knowledge, skills, and attitude to enhance the scholarship recipient’s competency and thus lead to a bright future and they will grow to give back to the community.”
Wesley Methodist School, being part of MCOE, has a long-standing legacy in education since 1891 and is renowned for its all-rounded education based on Christian Mission School ethos and values. The school is committed to building up each child into a responsible, purposeful individual and citizen equipped with the aptitudes to succeed and adapt in a rapidly changing world through the Methodist Education.
Wong Chee Kheon, Principal of Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International), believes that the scholarship will motivate students to work diligently with their teachers and be involved and excel in the school’s academic and extracurricular programmes.
He congratulated the scholarship award recipients and reminded them to be grateful to the benefactors for this blessing, to give back to the society when they are successful and inspire others to be generous in their giving as well.

The Cambridge A Level programme and Australian Matriculation programme offered by MCKL is now open for July 2022 and Aug 2022 enrolment respectively. MCKL also offers financial aids and scholarships to students.
