The Grand Consecration of Maha Kumba Abishegam of Sri Kandasamy Kovil located nearby Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) will conduct a chariot procession and ritual, with some 5,000 devotees attending the ceremony, on:
Chariot Procession Saturday, 18th March from 8.00PM to 11.30PM | Ritual Monday, 27th March from 5:00AM to 1:00PM |
The diagram of the chariot procession is attached below for your reference – please do not park along the pavements during this time to avoid congestion | Jalan Scott and Jalan Tebing will be closed from 5.00AM to 12.00PM – access is granted for residents and staff of offices in that area Traffic will flow one way at Lorong Padang Belia |
We are taking this opportunity to inform staff, parents and students of MCKL that there will be some changes to the traffic flow during this time. We are anticipating heavy traffic flow and backlog for anyone entering the area with their vehicles within the stipulated timeframe.
On Monday, 27th March, we would like to encourage the following: –
- Most staff and students take the public transport system to MCKL stopping at:
- Tun Sambanthan Monorail station just above MCKL
- KL Sentral and walk to MCKL, entering through Gate 7 at MCKL
Major roads connecting to the Brickfields area may be affected during the procession:
- Jalan Syed Putra (Federal Highway)
- Jalan Istana / Jalan Damansara
- NPE Highway
- Jalan Kinabalu (Loke Yew Highway/Jalan Kuching)
- Jalan Klang Lama
- Connaught Highway
