The subjects offered in this programme are comprehensive and extensive to ensure students are well prepared to work professionally in a variety of professions in the early childhood sector and succeed in it.
Substantial Practicum Exposure
Over the course of the programme, students will complete two practicums. This opens the opportunity for students to translate classroom learning into practice, gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced kindergarten teachers, and learn in a professional working environment.

NOTE:
*MPU: The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) requires all students to take Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) (i.e. General Studies) within the duration of their studies. MCKL established a series of subjects that different programs need to implement for all students to meet the Ministry’s requirements. Subjects will differ depending on the institution and the level of degree the student is taking.

Top Up 1-2 Years for Degree Overseas
Students who graduate from MCKL with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education can opt to top up one to two years for a degree in Ireland, United Kingdom or New Zealand through our partner universities.

- What is the average class size?
Class size is around 20-30 students depending on size of cohort. - What is the timetable like?
The earliest class starts at 8am and the latest class will end at 5pm. - When is the deadline to apply?
There is no deadline to apply. However, students are encouraged to apply early as registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. - How should I go about if I want to apply for the programme?
To apply, students can download the application form and attach all other relevant documents as listed in the application form. - Do I need to study MPU subjects?
Yes, it is compulsory for students to take MPU subjects. - Is there internship opportunity throughout the programme?
Yes, students have two internship opportunities throughout the programme. The first block practice is in a childcare centre (Taska) and the second block practice is in a preschool/ kindergarten (Tadika). - What are the options upon graduation from ECE?
Upon graduation from ECE, students can choose to start working or to continue with their degree programme, both local and overseas. Refer to University Partners to find out opportunities to study overseas.
