In a significant step towards enhancing educational opportunities and fostering international partnerships, Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) exchanged a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the University of Central Missouri (UCM) at MCKL campus in Kuala Lumpur.
With this, MCKL’s American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP) students can look forward to a seamless transition to expand their academic horizons at UCM in United States of America. Miss Khor Kheng Leik, Academic Director, Pre-U & Transfer Programmes for MCKL; and Dr. Roger Best, President of UCM, were present to witness the exchange of the memorandum of understanding.
The collaboration heralds a host of benefits for students. By providing a well-defined pathway between MCKL and UCM, students can seamlessly continue their academic journey without any hurdles or unnecessary bureaucracy thereby saving both time and cost.
By working together, MCKL and UCM aim to create a vibrant academic environment that nurtures intellectual growth and cross-cultural understanding. Students will gain access to a wider range of educational resources, faculty expertise, and research opportunities at UCM. This exposure will enable them to broaden their horizons, deepen their knowledge, and develop essential skills required for success in their chosen fields.
The partnership also represents a renewal of the agreement for the UCM Global Partnership Non-Resident Scholarship, which is granted by UCM. The scholarship program plays a pivotal role in providing financial support to deserving students from MCKL who demonstrate excellent academic potential.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address from Miss Khor, highlighting the importance of forging strong alliances in the realm of education. She also discussed on MCKL and UCM’s shared vision to broaden horizons and offer global learning opportunities for aspiring students.

The ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including university officials, faculty members, and representatives from both institutions. Guests were brought on a memorable campus tour as part of the agenda of the day.
