ADTP at MCKL: A Decade of Growth and Community

Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL)’s American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP) celebrated their 10th Year Anniversary on March 2024!  

The anniversary celebration, held on 8th March 2024, was a moment of pride and reflection, attended by representatives from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Messiah University, and EducationUSA Malaysia. The unveiling of the new backdrop in MCKL’s Main Lobby symbolized the significance of the occasion, serving as a visual reminder of the enduring bonds forged through a decade of collaboration and shared aspirations.

This milestone marked not just a commemoration of a decade-long journey, but also a testament to the enduring partnership between MCKL and esteemed universities across the United States. The event was not merely a reflection of past achievements, but a resounding affirmation of the collective dedication and vision that have propelled ADTP to its current stature of excellence.
 

Throughout the past decade, ADTP has evolved into more than just an academic pathway; it has become a beacon of opportunity for Malaysian students aspiring to pursue higher education in the United States. The support and commitment of our U.S. partners have been instrumental in shaping the academic trajectories of countless individuals, paving the way for them to realize their dreams on an international stage.

Over these years, MCKL partner universities have offered a plethora of exclusive scholarships and other merit-based scholarships for our ADTP students transferring to the U.S. Receiving such scholarships signifies academic excellence, boosting our student’s resume and opening doors for further academic and professional opportunities.
 

A Decade of Growth and Community encapsulates the essence of the celebration. Beyond its academic achievements, ADTP has forged a robust alumni network that spans various professions and industries. Our alumni, scattered across the global landscape, exemplify the program’s effectiveness in preparing individuals for the challenges of today’s interconnected world. This network serves as an inspiration for current and future ADTP students, showcasing the vast possibilities that lie ahead.

MCKL graduates have made significant strides in diverse fields, becoming ambassadors of excellence, and embodying the program’s commitment to academic and personal growth. To name a few, two of our ADTP Alumni is working for Microsoft upon graduation. Laura Tan has received bachelor’s degree from Messiah then continued her postgraduate at Duke University. Jie Anne is in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College upon completing her bachelor’s degree in Messiah. These alumni and many other who follow the same pursuits exemplify the program’s ethos of excellence and resilience, serving as ambassadors of MCKL’s commitment to nurturing future leaders equipped to thrive in an ever-changing global landscape.

During the celebration, Ms Veronica Yap, Southeast Asia Admissions Coordinator at Messiah University, expressed her admiration for the meticulously designed program and course structure of the American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP) at Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL). She emphasized that the program’s effectiveness is evident in the achievements of students during their tenure at American universities. Ms. Yap also voiced her desire for MCKL to continue fostering partnerships to facilitate seamless transitions from ADTP to universities in the United States.

Ms Heather Pearson, International Articulations and Admissions Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lauded the ADTP as a pathway conceived to offer the American Dream to Malaysian students. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to participate in celebrations alongside longstanding partners, highlighting a decade of collaborative efforts. Ms Pearson’s sentiment underscored the significance of the ADTP in promoting educational opportunities and cultural exchange between Malaysia and the United States.

ADTP has achieved numerous milestones, boasting partnerships with over 50 articulation universities. Your unwavering support has facilitated seamless transfers for ADTP students offering exclusive scholarships and merit-based opportunities. This has significantly eased the financial burdens of pursuing undergraduate degrees in the United States.  

As we look ahead to the next chapter of ADTP’s journey, the program remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence and innovation. This commitment is reaffirmed by all involved, emphasizing excellence, collaboration, and the pursuit of knowledge. Together, they aim to continue empowering the next generation of leaders and trailblazers, ensuring that the legacy of ADTP at MCKL in the years to come.
