Professional Recognition
Upon graduation, students have the opportunity to acquire ACCA membership status. They may also apply to become members of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), thus gaining the ability to use the designation of Chartered Accountant Malaysia, abbreviated C.A. (M).
Pathway to Gaining Internationally Recognised Degree Qualification
Students will have the opportunity to earn a BSc. (Hons) in Applied Accounting upon completing a Research and Analysis project by Oxford Brookes University while studying towards the ACCA qualification.
From Theory to Application
In this programme, students will gain exposure to real-world scenarios through talks from accounting firms and multinational companies.

- Students who have completed a full year preparatory / foundation study in English may be exempted from meeting the English requirements.
ACCA students who have completed the Fundamentals Level (Knowledge Module and Applied Skills modules) of the ACCA examinations can choose to obtain a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Applied Accounting while studying towards the ACCA qualification. It is a qualification that is exclusively made available to ACCA students.
The degree programme requires students to undertake a Research and Analysis Project which will be assessed by Oxford Brookes University, UK. Students are supported and guided under a Project Mentor throughout the project period.

- What time are the classes held?
Classes are held on weekdays from 8.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. for full time students and 6.30pm – 10.00p.m for part time students. There may be combined classes on Saturday from 8am – 5pm. - What time does MCKL ACCA office open?

Full-time students must take a minimum of 3 papers and a maximum of 4 papers per semester, total up to 8 papers per year.
Part-time students can take a minimum of 1 paper and a maximum of 4 papers per semester. - Can non-MCKL student take their CBE in MCKL?
Non-MCKL students are allowed to take their CBE exams in MCKL, only for papers AB, MA and FA. - What are the key differences between full or part-time mode?
Full-time students are able to dedicate extensively of their time on their studies and thus able to complete the ACCA programme in shorter duration. Our full-time mode also provides longer contact hours where students are given more tutorial classes. Full-time students are also entitled to attend enrichment courses like the IT literacy classes (for free). These are internationally recognised certification for Advanced Spreadsheet, Advanced Presentation, IT Securities and Online collaboration modules. Full-time students are able to participate in many more extra co-curricular activities. Besides these, full or part-time mode are taught the same way by the same lecturers using the same course materials. - Is ACCA recognised in Malaysia?
ACCA is an internationally recognised professional qualification, and is growing very rapidly. It has now more than 210,000 members and more than 500,000 students. They are widely recognised by multinational firms or organisations. It is also recognised in the Malaysian public sector, a highly sought-after qualification. Having your ACCA membership means you are able to apply to be a Chartered Accountant under the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) under the Part II of the First Schedule of the Accountants Act, 1967 - Is ACCA considered a degree?
ACCA is a professional qualification. By completing up to 9 papers in ACCA, an ACCA student can be conferred a degree from Oxford Brookes University (OBU) UK (BSc in Applied Accounting) by passing the thesis requirements set by both ACCA & OBU. Upon completion of the 13 ACCA papers, many universities provide exemption into the Master’s programme, with some only requiring an ACCA graduate to complete 2 papers for their Masters’ programme. Public accounting firms recognised the OBU Degree as a degree graduate and most large firms encourage or require their employees with accounting degree to pursue their studies to obtain professional qualification like ACCA. - Can I finish ACCA in 2 years?
The time required to complete your ACCA shall depend on your entry pathway. If a student is to commence from the first level of ACCA, beginning from the Applied Knowledge papers, it will have a total of 13 papers to complete which require the shortest time of 2.5 years. ACCA FIA students can start ACCA with Applied Skills level and another 4 strategic professional papers. That would only require a minimum duration of 2 years. An accounting degree holder with a full exemption of 9 fundamental papers would only require to complete 4 strategic professional papers with a minimum duration of 1 year. There is no time limit for the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills levels. The time limit applies to Strategic Professional papers. There is a 10-year time limit for a student to complete its OBU Degree, from the earliest date of your first examination or the date of exemption being granted. - Can I self-study ACCA?
A student can opt for any means of study for the ACCA programme. However, as an approved learning partner, we have the best team of experienced lecturers to guide you through the journey of your ACCA studies. Attending classes mean that you will be more informed of all the course requirements, having access to course materials, support for studies are available. As our classes are video-recorded, part-time students with heavy work commitment do not have to worry about missing classes are the lectures can be viewed at your own flexibility, anytime anywhere.
